About Camino Coin Company
A California Coin and Bullion House Trading Since 1959
Camino Coin Company was founded in 1959 in Burlingame, California, by Burt Blumert, who ran the business for almost five decades until his retirement in 2008, when he handed it to a long-time employee. It continues today as a family-owned dealer based at 846 Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park, California, selling in store as well as online, and its web presence dates back to at least January 2001.
Blumert was a notable figure in the American coin trade. He founded the National Association of Coin and Precious Metals Dealers in 1981, a predecessor of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, and testified before the Senate Finance Committee the same year. He also pioneered the use of Teletype networks among coin dealers for real-time market communication. From 1984 to 1996, between his spells in Congress, Ron Paul was Blumert's business partner at Camino Coin.
The company deals in gold and silver bullion alongside numismatic rare coins, collectible currency, stamps and sports memorabilia, and buys as well as sells. It is a member of the American Numismatic Association and the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, and is an authorized dealer for both the NGC and PCGS grading services.
