Valcambi SA is a Swiss precious metals refinery headquartered in Balerna, Canton Ticino, close to the Swiss-Italian border. Founded in 1961, it holds LBMA Good Delivery accreditation for gold and silver and LPPM accreditation for platinum and palladium. Its bars are accepted for settlement on major precious metals markets worldwide.

Who owns Valcambi?

Valcambi is owned by Rajesh Exports, a Bengaluru-based Indian gold company listed on the Indian stock exchange. Rajesh Exports acquired 100% of Valcambi in 2015 for $400 million through its Singapore subsidiary REL Singapore Pte Ltd. The refinery continues to operate from Balerna with its own management team.

What metals and products does Valcambi produce?

Valcambi refines gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. Its product range includes cast and minted bars in weights from 1 gram to 1 kilogram, as well as granules and semi-finished products for the jewellery and watch industries. The refinery is also the producer of the CombiBar, a divisible gold or silver bar made up of pre-scored 1 g segments.

How can you verify that a Valcambi bar is genuine?

Valcambi minted bars are sealed in a CertiCard, a tamper-evident assay card bearing the bar's unique serial number, hallmark, and purity stamp. Valcambi provides a serial-number verification tool on its website (valcambi.com) so buyers can confirm authenticity online. For bars not supplied in a CertiCard, check for the hallmark and serial number stamped on the bar itself.
