London-based private mint established in 1976. Produces coins for Pitcairn Islands, Falklands, and other small territories. In 2016 Tower Mint was awarded a 10-year contract by the Isle of Man Treasury, taking over from Pobjoy Mint which had held the contract since 1974. Tower Mint now strikes all Isle of Man legal tender coinage at its London facilities, including the Angel gold bullion series (first issued 1984) and the Noble series, which debuted in 1983 as the world's first platinum bullion coin and was revived by Tower Mint in gold and silver from 2018. The current range spans fractional to 1 oz gold and up to 1 kg silver.
