About GoldCore

GoldCore, Dublin Bullion Dealing and Vault Storage Since 2003

GoldCore is an Irish precious metals dealer founded in Dublin in 2003 by Mark O'Byrne, with Stephen Flood joining as co-founder shortly after launch. The business is registered in Ireland as Goldcore Limited (CRO number 377252, incorporated in October 2003) and operates from offices in Sandyford, Dublin. Its early focus was importing physical gold for Irish investors, who at the time had little direct access to physical precious metals.

The company sells gold and silver bullion for direct delivery or for allocated storage in vaults worldwide, serving private individuals, pension investors, financial advisers, and corporate clients. A UK establishment was registered at Companies House in 2008, and a California office followed as part of a US expansion phase. GoldCore operates across Ireland, the UK, and the US, with clients in over 100 countries; by 2023 the firm had served more than 15,000 clients and facilitated over $1 billion in precious metals transactions.

GoldCore joined the LBMA as an affiliate member in 2023, the first Ireland-based member of the association at the time of joining.

GoldCore: frequently asked questions

GoldCore is an Irish precious metals broker founded in Dublin in 2003, specialising in investment-grade gold, silver, and platinum coins and bars. It serves clients in over 100 countries and offers both physical delivery and vault storage across 14 locations worldwide. The company became an affiliate member of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) in 2023 and tracks 32 products on BullionFerret.
GoldCore is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and is incorporated there as Goldcore Limited (CRO number 377252). It also maintains a UK establishment in London (No. 1 Cornhill, EC3V) and opened a US office in California around 2023. The Ireland flag on this page reflects its primary country of operation.
In Ireland and across most European markets, investment-grade gold bullion is VAT-free (0%). Buying itself does not trigger tax, but a taxable gain arises on disposal. Irish investors pay CGT at 33% on any gain, with a €1,270 annual exemption. UK buyers face rates of 18% to 24%, with investment gold also VAT-free there.
The main risks are unallocated storage (where the dealer's insolvency could leave you as an unsecured creditor), counterfeit products, and delivery loss. To protect yourself, choose a dealer that offers allocated and segregated storage, verify trade body membership such as the LBMA, use insured tracked delivery, and pay by credit card where chargeback rights exist. Reading the storage agreement carefully before committing funds is also worthwhile.
