About the 1 oz Rosa Gold Bar
PAMP Suisse Rosa Gold Bar: The Floral Design Classic
The 1 oz PAMP Suisse Rosa gold bar features a single blooming rose with two buds nestled among leaves, rendered in high relief. The obverse carries no markings at all, an unusual choice for a bullion bar that lets the design stand alone as a purely aesthetic element. All identifying information (PAMP Suisse logo, weight, purity, metal type, serial number) is concentrated on the reverse. This design philosophy reflects the "Artistic Precious Metal Products" ethos embedded in PAMP's name.
The bar is struck to .9999 fine gold and sealed in PAMP's tamper-evident assay card with an individually engraved serial number (format: one letter followed by six digits). The assay card certifies weight, purity, and carries the official PAMP Suisse assayer's mark. PAMP describes this packaging as "irreplicable and extremely reliable," and it is integral to the bar's resale value. Bars removed from their assay cards typically trade at a discount because the tamper-evident authentication chain is broken.
PAMP was the first refinery to introduce decorative minted bars in 1979, starting with the Lady Fortuna design. The Rosa series is a direct descendant of that pioneering tradition, positioned for the gift and presentation market where visual appeal matters alongside investment value. With 16 active dealers listing the product, the Rosa is one of the more widely available PAMP thematic bars, sitting alongside the Fortuna, Liberty, Love, Lunar, and Faith series in PAMP's portfolio.

Full Size Range
The Rosa design is produced across a wide range of sizes, making it one of PAMP's most versatile design lines.
Gold (.9999 fine): 1g, 2.5g, 5g, 10g, 20g, 50g, 100g (metric), and 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz (imperial).
Silver (.999 fine): 2.5g, 10g, 50g, 100g, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 500g, and 1 kg.
Security Note
The Rosa series does not feature PAMP's Veriscan technology. Veriscan (available on the Lady Fortuna series since 2017) maps the microscopic surface topography of each bar and registers it in a database for digital fingerprint verification. Rosa bars rely on the assay card, serial number, and PAMP's brand verification services for authentication. For buyers who prioritise digital verification, the Lady Fortuna is the design to choose.
Rosa Gold Bar Tax Treatment
The Rosa bar is not legal tender in any jurisdiction. Tax treatment is identical to all PAMP .9999 fine gold bars.
- United Kingdom: VAT-exempt as investment gold. Subject to CGT on disposal (18-24%, £3,000 annual allowance). Not CGT-exempt; only UK legal tender coins carry that exemption.
- United States: No federal sales tax. State exemptions vary. IRA-eligible (.9999 purity from LBMA/COMEX-accredited refiner). Long-term gains at 28% collectibles rate. Available from all major US dealers.
- Canada: GST/HST-exempt at 99.5%+ purity.
- European Union: VAT-exempt under Directive 98/80/EC.
- Switzerland: PAMP's home market. Investment gold VAT-exempt. Silver Rosa bars subject to 8.1% VAT (reduced rate).
- Australia: GST-free as investment-grade gold. Silver Rosa bars also GST-free at .999 purity.
- Singapore: GST-exempt under the IPM scheme (gold at 99.5%+, silver at 99.9%+). No capital gains tax.
- Hong Kong: No sales tax, no import duty, no capital gains tax.
- UAE: No VAT on investment gold bullion. PAMP holds DMCC accreditation, giving the Rosa bar strong recognition in the Dubai gold market.
Rosa vs Fortuna, Love, and Other Refiner Bars
The Rosa bar's closest sibling within the PAMP family is the Love Always bar, as both serve the gift and occasion market. The Rosa design is more understated (a single rose, no text overlay) compared to the Love's heart-and-banner motif with pink packaging. The Rosa's wider size range (down to 1g in gold, up to 1 kg in silver) gives it more flexibility for different budgets and occasions. Both carry the same purity, authentication, and LBMA accreditation.
Against the Lady Fortuna, the fundamental trade-off is the same as with all PAMP thematic bars. The Fortuna has unlimited production, global brand recognition, Veriscan digital fingerprinting, and the tightest buy-sell spreads. The Rosa offers the floral aesthetic and gift presentation. The Fortuna is the more liquid investment; the Rosa serves a different purpose. For buyers who want PAMP quality with maximum resale efficiency, the Fortuna is the rational choice every time.
The absence of Veriscan on the Rosa is worth noting. PAMP bars are among the most counterfeited in the bullion market, and Veriscan provides a layer of digital verification that the Rosa's assay card and serial number cannot match. For buyers who expect to resell through the secondary market, particularly through dealers who have invested in Veriscan scanning equipment, the Fortuna's digital fingerprint adds measurable assurance.
Outside PAMP, the Rosa competes with bars from Credit Suisse (plainer designs, similar premiums), Valcambi (Swiss LBMA-accredited, known for the modular CombiBar), and generic refiner bars from Heraeus, Metalor, and Asahi. Generic bars trade closer to spot but lack the decorative design. Perth Mint and Royal Canadian Mint bars offer government backing that PAMP, as a private refiner, does not. The PAMP brand premium, across all designs including the Rosa, reflects Swiss craftsmanship, LBMA standing, and the assay card infrastructure rather than a difference in the gold itself.
1 oz Rosa Gold Bar: frequently asked questions
-
The cheapest 1oz PAMP Rosa bar tracked today is $4,270.00 from Monument Metals, around 2.4% over the $4,176.20 gold spot price. PAMP bars typically carry a higher premium than generic bars due to the branded assay packaging and Swiss refinery accreditation. The comparison table above shows all current dealer prices.
-
The PAMP Rosa is made from 999.9 fine (24 carat) gold, not rose gold. The name refers to the rose engraving on its face. Rose gold is an 18-carat copper alloy used in jewellery and contains around 75% gold. The PAMP Rosa bar contains no copper; it is pure investment gold with a decorative rose design.
-
Each PAMP Rosa bar ships sealed inside a tamper-evident assay card carrying a unique serial number that matches a number on the bar itself. The assay card certifies the weight, purity, and PAMP's assayer verification. Note that Rosa bars do not include PAMP's Veriscan optical fingerprinting technology, which is only available on the Lady Fortuna series. Buying from an authorised dealer with a sealed, undamaged card is the primary authenticity safeguard.
