The Snow Falcon is a 2016-only gold coin from the Royal Canadian Mint, featuring the gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus), the largest falcon species in the world. Native to Arctic and subarctic regions including northern Canada, the gyrfalcon was historically prized in Viking and medieval Norse falconry, where a white gyrfalcon was considered a gift fit for a king. The gold version is struck as a 1/4 oz coin at .9999 fine purity with a CAD $10 face value, backed by the Government of Canada.

The Snow Falcon belongs to the RCM's programme of wildlife-themed bullion coins that also produced the Polar Bear (2013), Arctic Fox (2014), and Snowy Owl (2018). The silver versions in this programme used an unconventional 1.5 oz format, while the gold versions were struck at the more standard 1/4 oz weight. The four-nines gold content means the coin contains exactly 0.25 troy ounces of pure gold, with no alloy metals added. This purity level is standard for Royal Canadian Mint bullion products but less common among other mints, where .999 or .9167 are more typical for gold coins.

Both obverse and reverse feature the RCM's radial line security feature, a pattern of fine lines that creates visible light diffraction under magnification. This anti-counterfeiting measure is shared with the Canadian Maple Leaf and other modern RCM bullion products, making it familiar to dealers and authenticators worldwide.
