About the 25g Multigram Gold Bar
PAMP's Snap-Apart Gold Bar Sheet
The 25g PAMP Suisse Multigram+25 is a sheet of 25 individually sealed 1-gram gold bars that can be snapped apart as needed. Each bar is 99.99% pure gold, carries the Lady Fortuna design, and comes in its own CertiPAMP tamper-evident assay card with a unique serial number. The total gold content is 25 grams, packaged in a single credit-card-sized blister.
PAMP introduced the Multigram concept to address the high per-unit fabrication cost of small gold bars. Buying twenty-five separate 1g PAMP gold bars individually means paying the CertiPAMP packaging premium on each one. The Multigram bundles them at a lower combined cost while preserving individual certification. When a bar is detached, it is identical to a standalone PAMP 1g bar and dealers accept it on the same terms.
Each bar in the sheet includes Veriscan verification, PAMP's proprietary anti-counterfeiting technology. Veriscan maps the microscopic surface topography of every bar during manufacturing and stores the digital fingerprint in PAMP's database. Owners can re-verify authenticity using the free Veriscan smartphone app. This is particularly relevant for PAMP products because the Lady Fortuna bar is one of the most counterfeited bullion items globally, and Veriscan provides a definitive authentication check.
The Multigram+25 is the most common format. PAMP also produces a Multigram+12 (12 x 1g gold bars) and a Multigram Portfolio (16 x 2.5g bars across four metals: gold, silver, platinum, and palladium). The 25-gram gold version is the standard product stocked by major dealers and the one most commonly available on the secondary market.

Lady Fortuna Design
The Lady Fortuna motif depicts the Roman goddess of prosperity with her traditional attributes: sheaves of wheat, poppies, a horn of plenty, coins, and the wheel of fortune. PAMP adopted this design at its founding in 1977, making it one of the first artistic motifs applied to investment bullion. The design is rendered in a prooflike finish on the reverse of each individual bar. The obverse carries the weight, purity, unique serial number, and the Essayeur Fondeur assayer stamp.
CertiPAMP and Veriscan
Each bar sits in a tamper-evident CertiPAMP card that functions as both packaging and assay certificate. The card confirms the bar's weight, purity, and serial number, signed by PAMP's assayer. Veriscan adds a layer beyond the physical card: the microscopic surface topology of each bar is recorded during production and stored in PAMP's database. The free Veriscan app (iOS and Android) allows buyers to scan a bar and verify it against the stored record. This technology is analogous to a fingerprint and cannot be replicated by counterfeiters.
Tax Treatment of the PAMP Multigram
As a 99.99% fine gold product from an LBMA-accredited refinery, the Multigram+25 qualifies as investment gold in all major markets. It is not legal tender in any jurisdiction, which affects capital gains treatment in certain countries.
United Kingdom
VAT-exempt as investment gold (995+ purity). Profits on disposal are subject to Capital Gains Tax at the individual's rate (18% or 24%), after the annual CGT allowance of £3,000. Gold bars do not qualify for the UK's CGT exemption, which applies only to UK legal tender coins such as the Britannia and the Sovereign.
United States
No federal sales tax. State sales tax varies by jurisdiction, with most states exempting bullion. The Multigram+25 is IRA-eligible: its 99.99% purity from an LBMA-accredited refiner meets IRS requirements under Section 408(m) for self-directed precious metals IRAs. The bars must be held by an approved custodian. Outside retirement accounts, long-term gains are taxed at the collectibles rate of up to 28%.
Canada
GST/HST-exempt as gold at 99.5%+ purity in bar form. Eligible for RRSP and TFSA accounts through an approved custodian.
Australia
GST-free as investment-grade gold meeting the 99.5% purity threshold from a recognised refiner.
European Union
VAT-exempt as investment gold under EU Council Directive 98/80/EC (gold bars of 995+ purity weighing 1g or more).
Singapore
Qualifies as an Investment Precious Metal (IPM) and is GST-exempt. PAMP has a strong presence in the Singapore market through MKS PAMP Group. No capital gains tax applies.
Multigram vs Maplegram, CombiBar, and Single Bars
The PAMP Multigram+25 competes directly with two other divisible 25-gram gold products: the Royal Canadian Mint Maplegram25 and the Valcambi CombiBar. The three products share the same total gold content and purity (25g of .9999 gold) but take different approaches to divisibility, authentication, and legal status.
The Multigram contains bars with the Lady Fortuna design and Veriscan digital verification. The Maplegram contains coins, specifically 25 individual 1-gram Gold Maple Leafs with legal tender status (CAD $0.50 each) and the Royal Canadian Mint's radial-line security technology. The CombiBar is a single scored bar that breaks into pieces, with no individual certification or design on each segment.
Authentication is the Multigram's strongest differentiator. Veriscan's database verification provides a definitive check that no other divisible product matches. The Maplegram's radial lines are visually distinctive but require familiarity with the feature to verify. The CombiBar relies entirely on brand reputation and its assay card.
For buyers who value legal tender status, the Maplegram is the only option among the three. This matters in Canada (where the coins are GST/HST-exempt as legal tender) and may carry psychological appeal for buyers who prefer government-issued bullion. In markets like the US and UK, the practical tax difference between the three products is minimal since all qualify as investment gold.
Premiums on the Multigram+25 and Maplegram are comparable. Both carry a significant markup over a single 25g gold bar from any LBMA refiner. Buyers who do not need divisibility will find a standard 25g bar from Argor-Heraeus, Heraeus, or Metalor substantially cheaper per gram. The premium is the price of flexibility.

The PAMP Multigram+25 is a credit-card-sized sheet of 25 individually sealed 1g gold bars that can be snapped apart one at a time. Each bar retains its own CertiPAMP assay certificate and unique serial number after separation, so you can sell or gift individual grams without losing authentication. This divisibility makes it more flexible than a single 25g bar, though the per-gram premium is higher.

Lady Fortuna is the Roman goddess of fortune and prosperity. PAMP Suisse adopted her image as the signature design on their bullion bars when the refinery was founded in 1977, making it the first refinery to use an artistic motif on investment bars. The design shows Fortuna with her traditional attributes including a cornucopia, sheaves of wheat, and the wheel of fortune. The same motif appears on every bar within the Multigram sheet.

PAMP (Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux) is a Swiss gold and silver refinery founded in 1977 in Ticino, Switzerland, and is accredited by the LBMA. Each bar carries a CertiPAMP sealed assay card with a unique serial number. PAMP also uses Veriscan, a proprietary system that maps the microscopic surface of every bar during manufacture; buyers can verify their bar's authenticity using the free Veriscan app by scanning the surface and matching it against PAMP's database.
