One of Germany's historic state mints, located in Munich with roots tracing to 1158. Identified by the 'D' mint mark on German euro circulation coinage and official collector issues. Also produces the African Wildlife bullion coin programme under licence from the Republic of Somalia: the Elephant series (since 2004, previously issued for Zambia from 1999) and the Leopard series (since 2018). Both feature annually changing reverse designs and are struck in .9999 fine silver and gold, available in sizes from fractional ounces to one kilogram.
