The Bodvar Saga is a multi-year storytelling coin programme from Germania Mint, launched in 2026. It tells the story of Bodvar, a Norse warrior whose village is destroyed and whose daughter is abducted, setting him on a path of vengeance and justice. Each annual release represents a chapter in the saga, making it one of the few bullion series with a serialised narrative structure rather than standalone thematic designs.
The 2026 inaugural chapter is titled "Loss" and depicts the moment Bodvar finds his wife Astrid dying amid the flames of their village, learning from her last words that their daughter Sunneva has been taken.
